TIL Snoop Dogg is invested financially in Reddit

I'm not trying to say America is "better". It is certainly better than most countries though. There is also nothing wrong with being period of the country you come from. But if you're the average black person in America, you're a damn American, stop pretending your African.

It also irks me the black people that give their kids "African" names. Just Google "African names" and you will see that "luhqueeshuh" is as African as "Tom Smith" is Japanese. If you want to make up a name for your kid, please do, just stop pretending that you're African.

Second result, from go ogling "African names":

ABENA   f   Western African, Akan Means "born on Tuesday" in Akan.

ABENI   f   Western African, Yoruba Means "we asked for her, and behold, we got her" in Yoruba.

ABERASH   f   Eastern African, Amharic Possibly means "giving off light" in Amharic.

ABIDEMI   m   Western African, Yoruba Means "born during father's absence" in Yoruba.

ABIMBOLA   m & f   Western African,Yoruba Means "born wealthy" in Yoruba.

ABIODUN   m & f   Western African, Yoruba Means "born on a festival" in Yoruba.

ABIOYE   m   Western African, Yoruba Means "born into royalty" in Yoruba.

ABOUBACAR   m   Western African Form of ABU BAKR used in western Africa.

ABUBAKAR

Posting on mobile, so forgive my formatting. These names have meaning. These names are words. Luhqueeshuh isn't African. It's made up. But it fits the "African-American" naming convention, and in America would be instantly recognizable as a black persons name. Either be proud to be an American, or go to Africa if that's where you think you belong, just stop being dishonest with yourself. And I'm not saying that last bit in the racist "go back to africa" tone either, I'm just saying it's really fucking dumb to be born in America, to American parents, from American grandparents, and call yourself a hyphenamerican. You're an American. Be proud, or move to the place you can be proud, stop second rating yourself, or claiming something that isn't yours.
