TIL when professional wrestler Brian Pillman was to be "fired" by the WCW as part of a wrestling storyline, he asked that he be faxed a real release form to increase the realism. Since all the proper signatures were on it, he used the document to escape his contract and wrestle in the WWE instead

I worked at a company that had one of the big wrestling leagues as a client, it was an absolute shit show anytime we had to talk to them. They're not only full of themselves they seem to have no idea how a business is supposed to behave. Maybe it's because they inhabit the "showbiz" world but we had lots of other clients that worked in various media and we had none of these problems. Anytime we told them no for one of their ridiculous "please do work for us for free" requests they would become rude, make even more wild demands and basically hang up when they were politely told we wouldn't do that either. Then they would call us back meekly 2 days later to ask what it would cost but never actually manage to apologize.

It was like dealing with children running an insane asylum, never seen anything like it since. I can only imagine what actually working for them was, I can guarantee they never once thought of consequences, they don't seem to exist in their world.
