TIL when Republicans in Congress sponsored legislation making lynching a federal crime, Democrats filibustered the bill and defeated it.

The first thing I'd like to say is look up the Republican southern strategy. It is an openly racist policy that is denied or spun by conservatives but their policies don't match their words.

More white people are on welfare, food stamps etc than minorities.

From a quick Google search I found that 38% of welfare recipients on welfare are white non-hispanic and 37% are black which is close enough to each other to be the same but these figures are not on a per capita basis and whites outnumber blacks 10 to 1 so a higher percentage of the black population is on welfare but I'd like to point out as well that there is a statistically higher rate of welfare/food stamp usage in the south in GOP states.

Being opposed to socialist, Leftist, Progressive policies does not equate to racism.

Not directly but conservative policy would effectively strip or limit the country of its social safety net like medicare, medicaid, unemployment insurance, welfare and food stamps which when combined with economic and legal policy in place that does not favor racial minorities you have an entire system that opposes minority races especially blacks.

I and other Conservatives are opposed to almost ANY progressive policy and ANY progressive politician. Race, sex, religion, orientation is totally irrelevant.

So you don't judge policy on its merits you judge it on its political leaning or political class that proposes it. It's why republicans are trying to repeal the ACA knowing full well that millions of Americans would lose their health care so now republicans are trying to figure out a system to replace it when the logical and sensible thing to do would be to fix the existing system. If only Obama wasn't the one who came up with it the right would accept it.

If Hillary becomes president, I will oppose almost everything she proposes. If Al Gore becomes president I will oppose almost everything he proposes. Same with ANY other Democrat/Leftist/progressive.

You sound like your indoctrinated as opposed to having a political affiliation. Any thing that is from us is good, anything that is from them is bad. You don't see the problem in this?

It is my belief that the whole GOP=racism is a Democrat lie, intentionally told in order to stifle debate of issues. Democrat philosophy is to demonize opponents so that voters don't even have to explore contrary opinions. Why would you even entertain the views of a mean racist?

You are obviously entitled to your beliefs but it doesn't mean they have a basis in reality. If you ever listen to rush Limbaugh, bill orielly or Sean Hannity you would see that there strategy is exactly what you just said. Demonize anything the left says no matter what the content or context is. There is a reason that fox news is not considered news in other countries because they are viciously biased towards the right and they spout so much unfactual information. Msnbc is the left wing version of fox but their level of spin is not in the same league as fox.

No crazy opinion pieces please.

I'm not gonna bombard you with a battle of links because I'm sure you realize we can both find Internet sources to back up anything we say. I'm trying to keep things on a general level. I'm not a hater and I'm not looking to trash you or your beliefs.
