TIL in WW2, Nazis rigged skewed-hanging-pictures with explosives in buildings that would be prime candidates for Allies to set up a command post from. When Ally officers would set up a command post, they tended to straighten the pictures, triggering these “anti-officer crooked picture bombs”

Bit of a rant here:

I always wondered what came first: men not having selection 'cause they aren't picky, or men not being picky 'cause they've never had much of a selection.

I can assure you, if the selection for men's clothes was higher quality and more diverse, men would be buying that shit. There are very few guys I know that like to wear saggy ass "regular" fit jeans or ultra-hipster skinny jeans from The Gap. Or the horribly fitted cotton t-shirts you find at most stores - that lose their shape in 2 washes and look like a crumpled mess around the waste.

I'm really picky about what I wear - example only fitted 50% polyester t-shirts. Only fitted dress shirts (casual or business). Only well made / durable and well tailored jeans / pants.

I mean - men like to impress women and look good out in public. I don't know many guys that don't want to look good when they're at work or at a bar. But, in order to do that, we have to go way out of our way to find that shit. You know like how when you're at a wedding, all the guys are in these shitty suits. And every guy always says "man, I need a better suit." And if I'm dressed well I always get questions from other dudes who want to know where I bought my jeans / shirts.

Thing is - as a guy, in order to find / buy nice clothes we have to go WAY out of our way to find it. And it's often ridiculously expensive. Want a nice decently fitting t-shirt? Well, that's going to be $80 at some designer shop. Aside from that, you'll be wearing that bland-ass 100% cotton fall-apart-in-2-washes crap you find at most stores.

I don't think most guys actually want to dress like this:

Example.

But when I'm in some of these clothing stores that's literally what I think the designers think. The clothing options are almost always shit - shit colors, shit tailoring, etc.
