I’m the guy in the linked comment. I’m American but spent a few years living in Australia and New Zealand enjoying the benefits of the very policies Bernie is striving to enact in America. Back in the US for a year more while I get my documentation together and gear up to take the Norwegian fluency test at the embassy in San Francisco. I’ve learned Norwegian because I’m about to move to Norway to (hopefully) remain permanently.

Bernie or bust is an easy mentality for me to have because I won’t have to endure the lasting effects. Does that make me a selfish, spiteful person? Yes. Does the fact that I’m a selfish, spiteful person in any way impact the fact that I voted for trump out of spite in 2016 and will do so again in 2020 if Bernie is not given a fair shot at the nomination? No.

You can call me childish. I am. But I do exist and there are a lot of others like me. We cannot be swayed by rational arguments because we have an obscene amount of privilege in some way or another. You might be able to possibly use the fact that people like me exist to sway Bernie-leaning voters to lean more toward the centre, I suppose.
