The sudden concern is alarming considering a lot of the states Trump won over aren’t seriously affected by illegal immigrants or even are as diverse. There is obviously a lot of misunderstanding of situations. Trumps rhetoric acts as if everyone who comes over commits massive crimes and causes the states at the border much anguish, which as someone who lives by the border I can tell you this is very far from the truth.

Our current protection is very effective and there are even private militias that patrol the border and detain people for border control to come pickup themselves. There’s no shortage of security down here. You’re right there aren’t many who think we shouldn’t be protecting our border or be concerned about who is crossing over, but the wall is a colossal waste of money which a fraction of could be spent to boost and fund our current efforts. The wall is reactionary and sensationalist.
