Trump was 'like a squirrel caught in traffic' during his 1st Pentagon meeting, top Mattis aide recounts

I think painting any group with a broad brush is bad.

I'm with you on this point. Generally speaking it IS bad, but I feel like you're looking for nuance inside a cult of personality, 90% of whom still support their leader's heinous policies and actions. No one is pushing that group into a circle, his supporters are building that circle all by themselves and it's being propped up by coordinated right wing media talking points and social media manipulation. Any democratic nominee or supporter will have to wear the baby-killing, flag hating, socialist hippie banner because that's how the dem party has been painted - regardless of what they individually support. I think many democrats accept that kind of slander at this point because that's where the playing field is. I'm an independent liberal-leaning gun supporter, I live with that shit everyday from both sides.

However I disagree that the country is fractured because of generalizations. I believe the fracture is between one party doing it's best to strip rights from women and minorities, funnel the countries' wealth to the top, pull up any support ladders and remove all safety nets, blatantly ignore the rule of law and completely disregard science and health services - all in an effort to enrich themselves and "own the libs" along the way. Then on the other side of the fracture is a party supported by those who refuse to slide backwards into a dark ages russia-lite oligarchy. That's the fracture we're facing.
