Trump signs executive order requiring that for every one new regulation, two must be revoked

I'm an acquaintance of the chairman of the rules review commission in NC. This is a fucking terrible idea. It's a zero-tolerance style policy that doesn't take into account what the regulations actually are. For example, my acquaintance recently received backlash from people because they decided to take one regulation and break it up into three to make things more easily understood. It had zero bearing on what the regulations did or how they were carried out, but it made it much easier for people to follow and understand them. Of course, many (mainly republicans, ironically, as my acquaintance has been a republican his political career) saw this as "wow they added two unnecessary regulations!" and complained incessantly.

The simple fact of the matter is that the number of regulations does not fucking matter at all. What matters is that they're properly enacted and properly vetted before implementation. If we require things like this, we're going to start seeing tons of regulations struck down simply so new ones can be passed.

We're basically playing jenga with our regulations. We're stacking more on top while removing foundations, and I'm worried we're going to reach a point where we cannot properly function due to the missing parts.
