I am genuinely saddened by the state of our country. I have an overwhelming feeling that our elected officials are completely failing the nation, and the world for that matter. I would love to be able to read news about some progress we’ve accomplished. It seems as if I haven’t heard good news for our county in months and you can’t escape bad news for even a day. This news in particular hits me hard. In the last year I was lucky enough to be part of a growing solar movement in the Midwest. Along with the steady stream of work, it has also been a little rewarding knowing that I have made a small (very small) positive impact on the world. Due to the nature of the business we outsource a large amount of solar cells from Canada. With this new tax, I’m almost certain our little outfit will be crushed. Beyond my self preservation and personal attachment to it, I can not understand the logic behind this. For all of the “Make America Great Again” talk, I’m completely lost on how this improves anything. Words can not express how much of a bummer this is. What a disappointment.
