It's bigger than that. We need new measures in place so no one can repeat this. What? I dunno, but the best idea I can come up with is removing people from government and allowing an open source AI to take a swing at things. I don't know exactly HOW it would work, but I like the sound of a government run on a blockchain that is impervious or at least actively defended against known flaws of existing blockchain technology. Something with some basic rules such as actually putting the well-being of people over corporations. Actual equality of opportunity and punishment; a system that is blind to a persons wealth, influence, race, religion, sexual orientation etc. Essentially, a system that removes or at least lessens our too easily corrupted asses from decision making.

I know there are TONS of potential holes, but I don't think assessing the possibility isn't too absurd given our current situation. We need drastic change.
