UK Foundation Programme vs F2 Standalone Programme

If you get full registration with the GMC you’re automatically ineligible to apply for the 2-year UKFPO.

So, if you are eligible for full registration just apply for the F2 Standalone. Applications open in January, so you’ll have enough time to apply for it. You’ll have to do SJT and based on that score +/- interview to get a place.

Jobs start in August. So, you’ll have 3+ months which you can use to get a F1 job to adjust to the NHS in a well protected post (as F1 you’re not required to do much more than in your residency).

F2 year in a good Trust with supportive postgrad team is more than enough to build CV geared towards your specialty and to learn more about the system.
