Unpopular Options on The Walking Dead Final Season

I thought Episode 1 of TFS was amazing. It just misses out on my Top 5 Episode of the Series. But Episodes 2-4 were just not great in my opinion. So everything I say here is a criticism of TFS from Episode 2 onwards.

The character development was pretty poor overall and the only characters that were developed was Louis, Violet and Tenn to an extent. One thing that Telltale used to develop characters and give you a subjective feeling towards them (and something that every other TWD Season had) was conflict within the group. Although this seasons group were friends that are all from the same boarding school (meaning the same level of conflict wouldn't make sense), it did need some conflict to give you certain ways characters can be percieved.

Also, the story itself and the direction it was heading in was quite predictable from the point you meet Lilly and Abel in the woods in Episode 2. It almost becomes The Delta vs Ericsson (and James). For some people that may not be a problem but for me, when there is a lack of character development, I wasn't as engrossed into it like I was Season 1 and 2.

Of course from a gameplay and graphical perspective, TFS wins comfortably. But that is not really why I loved TWD and Telltale games in the first place. The reason I love Telltale games and The Walking Dead is because the stories get you completely engrossed and are unpredictable, which this season wasn't for me. I did enjoy the game and I thought the story was nice, but it was not on the same level as Season 1 and 2 for me.
