I can kind of see what you mean about the equation. I myself generally don't drink at all unless I'm going to get drunk. If a family member offers a drink in celebration of something etc, I usually just say I don't like it (not as much an excuse maybe, I've always had an awkward relation to alcohol because of my dad).

I'm also very aware of my problems, and I do plan to get a therapist and talk about everything (including) this whole alcohol thing with them, as soon as I get out of mil, and get a proper job after.

I might not have made it clear enough, I meant to ask about the connection between my father's alcoholism, and my possibility of having it.

Anyway, thanks for answerimg, the part about the equation will give some food for thought, hopefully help determine whether it's a problem or not. I sometimes have actual irl problems following drinking, but usually it't just been embarrasment or such.
