[USA] Cyclist knocks over an illegally placed cone, causing a minivan driver to flip out

Did you report the assault to the police?

Yes, the detectives said I made their job really easy since I came with all his info (it wasn't hard for me to figure out who the guy was), and the whole thing was on camera. It was a little strange since I had to still go through a photo line-up and pick him out. The detective originally recommended agg assault (felony) due to him attempting to force me into an adjacent lane where other cars could've hit me. I asked if there's something less like harassment but he said the judge would likely throw out the felony charge and get him with a misdemeanor.

The next day however I got a call from the detective that the DA refused to press the case, I asked what about misdemeanor harassment? But nope.
So then I tried to press misdemeanor charges myself (had to figure all this out), but again the DA refused.

One of the cops I talked to said he personally thinks the DA is going to get indicted, I don't know enough about him but the cop was saying he's only interested in keeping his win percentage high and less interested in helping the public.

That's part of the reason why I just made this public, I'm pretty much done with the legal route, I figure maybe someone googling the business will see this and make another funeral home choice. Remember this isn't just some employee of the business, his last name is part of the business name.

Is the loading zone still there? Does the funeral home still block it off with cones?

Yes, they always have, you can look on google maps for historical pictures, and I think every single picture except one has cones in the loading zone (back to 2004 or something).

Have you made any complaints about their abuse of the loading zone?

I should probably go to the PPA since when a business applies for a loading zone the application even says:

Such behavior that could result in removal of the zone includes, but is not limited to, putting traffic cones in the loading zone, using the zone as your own personal parking spot, telling citizens that they are not allowed to park in the zone, etc.

One other funny fact, 3 of the cones were utility cones from different utilities (power, water, gas). I doubt they sell old cones to the public, but even if they did I doubt they'd have 3 different cones from 3 different utilities, so I assume the cones they used are stolen.
