Well then

Hour 624: Holy sheeeeet today was tough. Spent the day with a good friend that has no concept of my private drinking habit and she was interested on potentially doing a brewery tasting. I offered to take her to a tasting or an italian lunch. Had she picked the tasting I most definitely would have joined her. However, she picked italian and I made it through the distinct desire to drink a couple scottish ale's. Don't get me wrong, I am happy to be going to bed sober but for the first time in weeks I felt like a normal person that wanted to go for a normal drink. What wasn't normal was how badly I wanted that drink. It was all I could think about. I fantasized about where we would go, what I would get, if I should pick up a growler for later, etc etc etc. That isn't normal. Eesh.

On an unrelated note: WTF is up with that Apple watch? I've been a watch fanatic since I was in 5th grade and have amassed quite a collection over the years (everything from Disney collectables to fancy dress watches and even the new fitbit watch and recently some of the Android wearables). I know how much nice watches cost from reputable brands (victorinox, citizen, seiko, etc) and the most baseline apple watch starts well past some of those other offerings. I have android smartwatches that do exactly the same thing for less than half the cost. What is Apple playing at? $1000 for something that you have to charge ever 12 hours? There is no way that the 1st gen watch stays relevant for more than a year. I paid close to $1000 for my nicest dress watch and it is beautiful and will last me for the rest of my life if I take care of it. How does that company justify a simple accessory costing more than an iPad and more often than not, the phone that powers the device. The watch is useless without an iPhone which costs 649 unlocked. You can't even get a leather band for that much. Holy cheese. I'm not sure even Apple can pull that one off. The watch will never be viewed as classic beauty and I don't think anyone but early adopter techies and the most diehard of apple fanboys could afford that thing. $400 (the cost of the model that has a relevant screen size) is far too much for the yearly xmas present cycle so I honestly feel all apple stores will be sitting on thousands upon thousands of unsold watches by year end. They might be able to move some if they allow the device to be used with android phones but I doubt it.

Sober sleep time. See if I can make it to 648
