Number of different factors. I'll say one issue here seems to be cultural. It's not limited to this issue at all.

• Asian mothers for whatever reason practice this inherent coldness that can be seen with Tigee Momming. I imagine this is a cultural carryover. When confronted with their white fever Asian women will immediately start averting the subject with "suck it up," "do you homework." Because Asian culture is so status and survival oriented parenting rarely goes beyond that and self awareness tends to me about "I like white men because they're strong, so what." And because of their defiance to any kind of moralism which is kind of a carryover from Asian culture which I've realized is just that cutthroat, the child comes secondary to the desire of the woman for integration.

The father on the other hand is usually just an opportunist who took; at very best, an opportunity to get laid with a woman he found attractive. At very worst he is a racist for any number of reasons and Asian women occupy a racialized compartment for his expectations of what a woman should be like. On the extreme end he also gets off on the sense of dominance over the "Asian man's woman", and / or views Asian women as being submissive and / or highly sexualized natural partners to white men. My suspicion is that it is a combination of all three.

A more trite explanation would be that all of these explanations are true, combined with latent ideas of racism and supremacy that affect all peoples actions at a fundamental level - a degree of racism that neither party wants to acknowledge but one that makes WMAW so common and the reverse so uncommon - so it is a kind of racism that exists but is not acknowledged.

We can call this "covert racism" or "latent racism" - the kind that seems invisible to most but is responsible for patterns in society. The racial imbalance in dating is one, another would be like ethnic food being lumped together at the supermarket in one aisle. Seems minor, right?

But when you place children into the mix you don't know what you're going to get. That's the thing.

When you have an Asian man and a white woman both parties occupy a space where they get attacked simply for being together. Not rarely but in general. This will force introspection that will affect the children positively. To this end, white mothers tend to show an empathy (not in all cases) that Asian mothers do now, due to cultural issues.
