What a adult answer... (tried to save it with the last message)

I don't have much time for games these days but they definitely aren't all for children. If anything, adults often need that bit of escapism even more lol. Seriously though, there is such a large variety of games. People have already suggested some of the more mature ones but there are also puzzle games (I've recently been playing a game called Baba is You, which is a somewhat challenging and fun little puzzle game to relax with, but there are so many different types of games in the puzzle game genre alone). There are some games that are like watching a TV show where you can decide the direction it takes; it's no more childish than watching television or reading a book. There are some games that are fantastic for small party settings, some even being more like board games but they show on your TV screen. I believe that video games vary more than other mediums, like books and television shows, yet many people who don't play just think of video games as shooting games or Super Mario. I used to play a game called Morrowind as a child and I only appreciate that game more now that I am old enough to appreciate its exploration of themes like racism and xenophobia; so there are games that children will be less able to appreciate than adults. Some games definitely appeal more to children but, I guarantee you, if you wanted to give video games a chance then you'd be able to find something out there that appealed to you.
