What are some verses that support a “simple” gospel vs ones that support having answers?

I do think apologeticstm by and large is a fundamental misstep when done “recreationally”, or for any purpose unrelated to outward reach, i.e. actually engaging in apologia, which one almost certainly isn’t actually doing if they’re anything less than a published scholar.

The Christian faith, and of course most faiths, is not predicated on a series of internally consistent syllogisms, or whatever it is you’re looking for. Most people who believe in God of course do not believe in God due to being convinced by something like the Five Ways of Aquinas, just as an elementary example.

Granted, one would hope that highly active members of a Church could at least answer questions like “Why do you believe?” (which isn’t particularly getting into apologetics territory anyways), so that remains a little baffling.
