I am so glad you have! I've had terrible luck with people here. I've met the most unauthentic people I have ever met in my life here. I think the toxic people have bee so bad, that it blocked me from meeting the good people. The whole Mardi Gras kewe experience was terrible. I know one person who essentially said "fuck this city" after dealing with them and moved. I took a 6 month break from any attempt to make friends and I feel like the ones I see the roots of friendship starting to form are the most amazingly inspiring people I have ever met. I just wish I took this giant leap in that direction years ago. It's made it feel a bit more like home here. I still think New Orleans has a whole load of problems-- and the bad seeds here are truly the worst of the worst I've ever met-- but I do love this city. It's a passionate love affair that goes from love to hate and back again.
