toxic masculinity is the effect of a misogynistic culture on men. men do not experience misogyny in the way of being systematically marginalized for their gender, they do not internalize a hatred of their own gender because of the culture they live in. men experience toxic masculinity, which is damaging but still places them on top. they develop an internalized hatred or prejudice of women which feeds into the cultural and systemic issues of misogyny. misogyny is the shit end of the stick, men r holding the stick. sometimes women grab onto the stick too in hopes of not getting poked but the things covered in thorns n everyones gettin hurt n every time a man tries to drop the stick his dad comes out n berates him n his mom says “listen to ur father son, be a man” idk the metaphor got complicated tl:dr: misogyny is generally the systemic and cultural effects our society has on women. shit laws rooted in misogyny can affect men n stuff like that as thats nature of our society everyones kinda getting hurt by everything but only sum ppl are being marginalized because of it and thats what terms like misogyny speak to
