I wish I was more awake... here is the story.
I was in a high school in Sibiu – Romania in 1988. 12th grade. Back in Romania, when we didn't feel like going to a class... we just didn't go... sometimes we got in trouble for it, we didn't care. Sometime even the whole class left the school to see a movie... of course, without permission... Anyway, it was around the middle of 2nd trimester and I didn't feel like going to the history class so I left the school. There is a park in Sibiu close to the city center, “Astra Park” where people play chess and backgammon. That's where I went and I was looking for a good bench to watch the people pass by. While searching for a bench, someone calls my name from behind. I turn. A girl from 11th grade that I barely know was catching up with me. She looks pretty good, she looks much older than 17 years old. Her name is Lidia. She was holding a toddler's hand. We say “Hi, what's up...”, I explain to her that I don't feel like history... and I'll be around for about two hours. We laugh a little and then she asks me if I can keep an eye on her son for about 30 min. She has to meet someone, some personal reasons, she can't tell me more... I accept, I have nothing to do anyway. The kid it's pretty cool, he can't talk much yet. I had no idea that she had a son. We have fun, I play with him... I buy him an ice cream... made some paper airplanes... he really likes me. He calls me few times “daddy”, hehe, I like that! I would love a piece of your mom's ass.
35 minutes passes, she's not back. I play some more with the kid... I don't even know his name. 45 minutes, nothing... after about an hour and 30 minutes I started to get desperate. I had to head back to school in 15 minutes and Lidia is nowhere. I got the kid on my back for a piggy ride and I left the park to see if I can find her somewhere. Sibiu's center is not that big. After about 2 blocks I see Lidia holding hands with some older dude. She sees me from distance and start kissing the dude. I go to her and tell her “Hey Lidia, I have to go head back to class.” She looks at me like I just came out of an alien ship: “Who the fuck are you? My name is not Lidia...” At that point I'm like WTF? I can't believe, is this some kind of joke. “Lidia, seriously, here is your son, I have to go back to school”. The kid hugs my leg and doesn't want to let it go. I'm thinking to myself “you had to buy him ice cream, didn't you moron?”. Lidia's dude pushes me, “Hey leave my girl alone”. I was red, mad, didn't know what to do... I punch the guy in the jaw. The guy tries to punch me back... The kid starts crying... Lidia gets me by the hair...
Lucky me (or that's what I thought) there was a policeman not far. He runs yelling at us to stop. We stop. At this point the guy's lip is bleeding, I'm missing few buttons on my shirt... Lidia and the kid are crying. The policeman calls for a police car. I try to explain what happened, but he's not interested in my story “Shut up! You all will have time to explain this at the police office”. Two cars come, a police van and a car. They get me and the kid in the car and Lidia with her dude in the van. My mind is racing. What the fuck is going on? Why would she say that she doesn't know me? I'm scared and I feel sorry for the poor kid.
We get the police office after them. In the office there are 3 police officers and Lidia already explained to them that she doesn't know me and I attacked them... As soon as I get in a police officer slaps me in the face “What the fuck is wrong with you, why would you attack those people?”. I start crying, the kid is crying and keeps calling me daddy! I tell them my side of the story... Lidia jumps in “that's not true... bla bla bla” her crazy ass story that she never met me before.
After few minutes, one of the officers has a “brilliant” idea: “I'll put the kid to sit here on this chair in front of you both and you each call him, come to mommy and then come to daddy, and we'll see who's lying”.
Only ice cream and paper airplanes I can see in my mind at this point. The kid sits in front of us. Lidia goes first: “come to mommy”. The kid does nothing! Just sits there as an asswhole that he is! At this point I'm praying for the nightmare to end. “Come to da...”... I didn't even finish and the kid jumps off the chair … and I got so scared that I woke up.
