What is the dumbest thing you got punished for in school?

My time with zero tolerance policies. Story time.

A little background: My brother and I grew up in a small town. He's 7 years younger than me so he got every teacher and principle I had in elementary school. I wasn't popular but was well like by the faculty. Our mother worked a lot so primary care fell on me like getting my brother from school and what not.

I was finishing my day at highschool when my mom sent me a text saying I needed to go to the elementary school to get my brother. He was being suspended for fighting and she couldn't get away from work. No big deal but I was furious with my brother. We took mixed martial arts classes to learn defense, not pick fights!

I get to the school to see my brother crying. The receptionist says the principal is ready to see me and I tell her I'll be in after talking to my brother. What happened?

During recess a kid who bullied my brother most of that year, a problem that the teachers and principals were aware of, decided to pick a fight with my brother. The other boy threw a punch and my brother blocked it and ran away. I tell him good job for not fighting back and our sensei would be proud. I go in to talk to the principal and she tries to convince me that my brother was the aggressor. I laughed and reminded her this was an on going problem they knew about and refused to deal with. She told me they were both going to be suspended and I should be grateful he wasn't going to be expelled. I lost my temper and yelled, "he's being punished for defending himself when none of you would?!" She stuttered a response I refused to here. I walked out, grabbed my brother and told him in front of the principal and receptionist, "I'm sorry bud, you're going to miss a couple days of school for doing the right thing. Next time he wants to fight, make him regret it." And walked out.

After hearing our side our mom called the principal who told her what I told my brother. She responded, "let this be a warning. Either you deal with the problem with these boys or my son will end it."

A month later my brother got in the same situation with the kid and my brother blocked
