What is the "elephant in the room" for your family?

Meh, I have a cousin that I get along with very well and people always assume he's my "boyfriend from out of town". Really though we are first cousins and we had discussed this kind of very personal stuff like sex, because we are just that comfortable/open as people in general. (I have friends that I will casually watch porn with as if it was a regular movie...)

Both of us like each other very much, be we both agreed that despite being a "great couple" we wouldn't date/fuck first cousins. You're getting into the gray area when it comes to 3rd or 4th cousins, since we do have at least 4 of our distant cousins marry before and have children. We both also grew up in small towns where it is common to see 3rd and 4th cousins dating each other.

Now, if only people would stop making assumptions between me and my younger brother. Just because I dyed my hair blond, and he's taller than me/has glasses now, doesn't automatically make us 2 unrelated people in a relationship. I force him to shop with me so I buy the food he'll eat and help me with my social anxieties. It doesn't mean we are fucking. Also I'm the only one that has a driver's licence at the moment, and he needs to have me in the vehicle until he passes his own. Again, it doesn't mean we are fucking.
