bruh, how is that elitist at all? They aren't elitists, some of them just like to know what kind of show it is before they start so they know how they should handle their expectations. That way they know if it is a nice show to turn their brains off too or one that might be a bit more involved. That is a perfectly reasonable thing to want to know, because anytime I do anything I like to have some basic idea of what it is about before I go into it, if possible. And that makes sense because not all my friends have the same taste as me, so of course they are going to want to know what it is like because we don't have completely overlapping interests. Just because I thought it was really cool or fun doesn't mean they will and vice versa.

I am not gonna recommend someone an anime like Log Horizon saying that it was a really hype isekai better than SAO. Because doing that could easily put the thought in their head that it could be something like SAO when it is nothing like it and would give them the wrong idea and could easily lead to disappointment. Because I have been disappointed plenty of time by having the wrong expectations.
