What high end brands are worth it?

Nobody does it better than Common Projects (CP) when it comes to minimal slim white leather sneakers. They nailed all the details such as the toe box, tongue, and heel.

Heck, they even nailed the number of eyelets to a perfect 6 if you wish for a more clean look by bar lacing them. Eyelets have to be an even number for proper bar lacing but 4 is too little and 8 is too much -- odd numbers like 5 or 7 eyelets can still be bar laced but with really janky workarounds fyi.

Also, the CP branding is very subtle, some argue CPs look better without the numbers but I say the branding is an essential part of separating CPs from every other minimal white sneaker you see in the wild.

Sure, you can get something similar to CPs like Svennsons, Erik Schedins, Gustins, or others (I made an entire list, you can check it here) but then you're missing out on some details -- that is, if you are nitpicking the details. You can go read through the thread I made where I talk a bit more extensively about this.

I've heard a lot of stories over the past few years of how many people wish they just saved up a bit more money for a pair of Common Projects rather than settling for something less like a pair of Gustins and be unhappy with the quality of the shoes or another pair of slim white minimal sneakers and sulk over not having a narrower toe box. To those people still on the fence of biting the bullet and pulling the trigger on a pair of CPs, I say do it 100% with confidence. You'll cry once about the price but you won't be crying again.

tl;dr Common Projects are dope. Don't settle for less, just buy a pair if you want the best.
