I'm not sure if it's still in the curriculum but back in the late 90's early 2000's in public school Illinois our school district had us learn line dancing, tumbling (gymnastic type stuff), roller skating, and some sort of weird etiquette course. How to open the door properly for people as well as how to properly pull a seat out for any ladies. This was 4th-7th grade. I remember the 6th grade tumbling very vividly because it was the first time I went to an authority figure and openly said I found no point in it and would not participate. They tossed me in school suspension from gym class for about a month for the duration of the lesson plan they had for tumbling. Ended up meeting some life long friends refusing to participate and ending up in suspension with them lol
