What do the people of reddit think of the huge protests happening in London against the lockdowns right now?

There is an illogic thought among those to protest the lockdowns that is really cause for concern. It basically says "Fuck your health, I want a haircut." It makes no actual sense. We've been fighting against it for more than a year here in the US. This is an actual 'case study' of sorts...a friend of mine, we're both over 50. Now, let me also add into this the fact that my wife is immuno compromised and except for a trip to the Doctor's office she's not been out of the house since February 9, 2020. She even wonders if it will ever get to the point that we CAN get out of the house. (I'm concerned that she's growing a case of agoraphobia to boot! but that is a discussion for another day.)

Early on, we (My friend and I) were both adamant "Stay home for the good and health of the country." types. We argued together many times with those that felt the lockdowns were "against our freedoms." Logic escapes these people. We both tried to tell these people that you cannot count this as "against freedoms" if it endangers the health of any one of us.
Lather, Rinse, repeat.

Now, the vaccine is here. At the time, we had about 25% vaccinated. (Today they announced we are over 50%, so much better, but I digress.) She got her second shot and then about 2 weeks later, posted that she and her husband had decided to go out to eat and actually sit down rather than eating in their car and discovered McDonalds' was closed! She ranted and railed against this even decrying "Boycott McDonalds!" Thus becoming one of those who just doesn't care. "I want to eat in a restaurant and fuck your health!" it sort of said. I had to point out to her that even though she had her shot, 75% of the people in that restaurant would NOT be vaccinated and able to pass the virus to one another. She has yet to reply.

It's a mind blowing thought that so many people now only think of themselves rather than the populace as a whole or the country itself.
