Religion was already well on the way out for me when I realized it has too much intolerance, and I met people that weren't evil because they're gay or trans or furries or this or that (it's all horseshit, people are all unique and most of them pretty lovely <3) and that it's mostly dogma to make an 'us vs them' environment centralized around stupid shit that exists to distract us from what actually matters in life. I could go on and on...

Anyways the final straw for me was a failed suicide attempt. The personal realization with the simple logic that if a loving god were to have created me, it wouldn't have been with an all consuming drive to destroy myself and suffering my own existence constantly with the only substantial crutch found among man and not gods.
