My mum seems incapable of just telling me an address and a time I need to be there. Our conversations are always like:

Lets have lunch on Wednesday

Sounds good, are you picking me up or am I meeting you there? If you give me an address and a time, i will be there at that time.

The booking is for 12:00

awesome, so what's the name of the place? I will meet you there at 12:00.

We should go there at 11:45. It's down the road from [some store] then turn left by the [unremarkable thing] and go down to the end of that road and turn right. Keep going then go right by the park and it's just opposite the park.

Do you have an address or a name of the place? I will just look it up on my map.

Why do you have to be so difficult? I will pick you up.

~~Sorry i wasn't trying to be difficult, i just wanted an ~~ (<- deleted) okay see you tomorrow.

Then she turns up at my place at 10:30am and is pissed off because i'm not ready to leave.

Sorry, you just said 11:45 so I set my alarm for 11am.

You always do this. We need to go drop off your brothers car at the shop then it's a 40 minute drive to the restaurant and we have to be there at 11:45. I hate when you make me late.

So then i'm in the car biting my tongue the whole way, and she will notice that i'm quiet so she will start prodding me with questions to assess my mood, which makes it worse. We get along really well most of the time but I just wish she would say "meet at your place at 10:30am for pickup" or "[restaurant name] at 11:45" instead of this cryptic insanity every time.
