What is something you have told the truth about but everybody thought you were lying?

I grew up in an area where everyone around me was super rich so I never thought I was wealthy growing up just middle class (Father was head of one of the big banks in the world and my mother was a model/heir to one of the big companies in the world). My brother and sister are very flashy with money but I never really mooched off my parents for anything because "I wanted to make it on my own" (I understand how stupid that sounds).

So anyways, after boarding school, I went to college in Northern California and paid my own way through college, worked three jobs... blah blah blah. So everyone I know on the west coast thinks I'm poor as shit and don't believe me when I tell them about things I had as a kid. Or what my life is like when I am with family and friends on the east coast. Although I did have a great aunt that gave me her house in Atherton to use while in college and grad school but I never invited anyone over.

Although the cat is sort of out of the bag when I used my family's plane to for an emergency to help a friend out.
