Deciding your day by democratic vote isn't going to work. There will always be one person who just wants to sleep, or isn't ready, or wants to do every tourist attraction, or doesn't want to adhere to a plan, or just drink, or...you get the idea.

Have a thing that everyone has to meet for. For my family, it was the cruise ship dinner at six. After that, we could do whatever we wanted. Tag along with our parents? Hang out in the pool all day? Brunch buffet, then rock climbing, then cocktail workshop? (Cruise ships are great.)

My parents didn't have the same interests as us. We could at least agree on food, and if we didn't show up...that was on us.

You shouldn't have to parent your peers.
