What is wrong with you people?

Eh, its just part of what happens on this sub reddit nowadays for some reason. It happens with lots of stuff here. I get told the Abyss can't sound good cause they don't measure well supposedly. I get told amps don't make the slightest bit of difference, especially solid state. God forbid you spend more than $100 on a DAC.

I used to really like this sub, but its becoming more and more of a place where mid-fi rules (and I fucking hate the terms lo-fi mid-fi and hi-fi as I'm not GUTB, but I can't think of anything else to convey what I'm talking about) and if you spend anymore than that you are a fucking moron who believes in audiophile snake oil. I don't know if its just sour grapes or what. I feel way more welcome and accepted at head-fi nowadays, and that is saying something. Head-Fi can be a bit potato-y at times, but at least I can chat about gear costing more than 100 bucks with someone without a shit storm of down votes and "science says it doesn't sound any different" people coming in and ruining the convo.

I used to try and create content for this sub that I thought people would find interesting, but I just get shit on for not posting budget gear, and told I'm an idiot for spending my money on something that I believe sounds good, and takes my set up to another level. I was going to post a review and impressions of my new amp when it comes in, but I'm probably not going to bother now, as it will get downvoted tae fuck, whilst the 10th pic of HD598's with a schitt stack and some colourful mechanical keyboard that day gets over 100 upvotes and ooo's and aaa's. I don't really feel welcome anymore here, even though I have a pretty damn good amount of experience with headphones, amps, and dacs, from $100-$7000 on up.

Quite a few of my posts get downvoted and I have no idea why, they offer genuine, helpful advice. Hell, this post will get downvoted by people with 598's and certain others cause they think I'm shitting on them. I'm not. I appreciate the budget posts here just as much as the high end posts, but it doesn't seem to go the other way with most people on this sub. Perhaps they can't relate, and they like shitting on hi-end gear because it makes them feel better about their purchases. I'm really not sure.

Just do you man. That is the best advice I can give you, as its the advice I've had to take myself. It doesn't matter how your headphones measure if you like them, right? Fuck what the trolls, and people who fap to frequency response grids think. If it sounds good to you, then it sounds good to you, and that is all that matters.
