What is your family's immigration story?

On my Fathers side I could only go as far as when the Armenian genocide occurred.

My great grandmother/father were lucky enough to flee from the ottoman empire(Turkey now) to Thessaloniki in Greece and set up a nice watermelon and chicken farm.

They had to abandon everything they owned and their parents saved their lives by hiding them away before they were beheaded by the Turks or ottomans i forget.(Gruesome to learn about)

My great grandparents had that farm from their 20's to their 70's and sold it to live in a modest bungalow(They have both since passed in their 80's), but their initial years spent there they faced a lot of racism and negativity from native Greeks so when my Grandmother had turned 20 years old they gave her a 1/4 of their savings(Around 20k euros or drachmas i think) She then moved with her husband(G Father[Not on good terms with so don't know much of his history]) to Toronto, Canada.

They had 3 Sons my Father being the oldest. Where after my Father turned 22 years had me his first son.

My mothers side is really short as it is pretty sad as well. My mothers parents were Ojibwa natives from northern Ontario who gave there 4 children to a British couple admitting they were unfit to raise them as they were alcoholics and emotionally unstable(No doubt from the residential schooling they experienced). I appreciate their honesty, but they died around the age of 50 from alcohol and drug abuse. I was never able to locate them.

My aunt committed suicide(She was apparently a wild one and uncontrollable) when I was 4 years so didn't learn about until I was 8 and able to understand the world better, but my uncle and other aunt so far are living normal healthy lives with families that I visit often.

Honestly I feel like I'm here by complete luck.

So I can only go 3 generations on my Fathers side and 1 on my Mothers since she was basically adopted(Her adopted parents are really nice btw and gave them all great opportunities).

That's it, hope I can continue a 4 generation streak.
