What is your hometown known for?

No, it's not rude. I got a partial scholarship to go to UW--Oskosh. In the meantime, my parents relocated to Wisconsin. Then they started a campground/petting zoo and asked me to help run it. During this time, I met my husband and soon, I relocated to Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. We had a beautiful house, but then my dad passed away. In my grief, I wanted to live on a plot of land to breed and to rescue animals. We moved to Randolph. Everything was going great. We had two beautiful girls and then I just got sick. The doctors realized that one of my kidneys had died and was making basically a toxic soup in my body. I had surgery to get my kidney out. 2 days after my surgery, my whole body started itching....especially my legs. I developed deep wounds in my sides, abdomen and the front of my legs. They didn't know what was going on at first. After a few trips to the ER with me massively bleeding, they discovered I had a disease called Pyoderma gangrenosum. I got sent to a specialty hospital...which was called Select Specialties in Madison, Wisconsin. I stayed there for 7 months until my wounds healed. They were necrotic at the beginning so I had to get the wounds debrided daily. From all the steroids and lack of activity, I gained a lot of weight. So, when I do get out, I'm probably one of the people that the majority of Reddit makes fun of. It doesn't bother me. I'm gaining more and more use of my legs. I just can't do distance. My legs just trip over themselves. I've lost 31 lbs. I've got about 100 more to lose and I am trying. But, I'm alive, I'm loved and I don't care if anyone makes fun of me. Also, I wear crocs proudly. I have a series of horse riding injuries and my feet don't look human! I've broken them for horses than I care to recall. I've still got the disease. I get flare ups all the time, but I have a ton of bandages and salve to use. It's not curable. I just got to be careful. We don't have horses anymore. I can't risk it. I miss them so much though. But, we have dogs, cats, guniea pigs, bunnies, parrots and soon rats. My animals and my kids are everything to me. It is still hard for me to get around. I try to walk when I can, but some days I just can't then I use the walker or the wheelchair. But, I keep trying.
