What was your most scary encounter with the wildlife?

I was commercially mushroom picking in spring 2015. Our crew ended up in an area where it had been known that troubled bears are sometime relocated to the area. Doing this job, we live off grid in or near the forest where we forage all day. The first 3 days of setting camp up and picking mushrooms, I slept approximately 3 hours in 3 days. Almost every time I went to my tent to try to rest, I’d hear a bear - or a friend would yell “hey man, another bear is near you”. By the 3rd day I was fed up, but went to work and strolled back through camp late afternoon. Upon arriving I find a bear just walked right through my tent. Stitched it up with fishing line and took a walk in the area. I soon discover a huge pile of trash that some idiot toss 100 yards in the woods behind where we camped. I took the next 24 hours to burn and get rid of all the trash. I go to sleep that night, amazingly enough I actually fell asleep for a few hours. Just before sunrise I am waken up to shouting. I crawl out of my tent, my neighbour runs by with a gun and says a bear went through a tent where a mother and child were sleeping. Neighbour runs into the woods and 3 minutes later, I hear two shots. Buddy comes out and says he’s killed the bear. All of this ordeal was a lot to take in, it’s not completely unsual to see bears often in this line or work but constant troubled aggressive bears, make me shit myself. In the end, my neighbour skinned the bear and started to preserve the hide. Cooked all the meat, and fed about 200 dirty mushroom pickers the next day.
