What's the craziest butterfly effect that happened to you because of a small decision you made?

1 old email changed a lot.

Lockdown meant that my current job was closed (a job I hated) and I contained my job search online to not avail.

This is well into the summer and I haven't checked my university email for about 2 months but I decided to log in just to have a look and an email had come through the day before from the careers service. The email had a link to a job in the covid labs so I applied and expected not to hear back. The next day I get a phone call to come in for an interview. The labs are based an hour drive from my house and I don't drive but I went anyway, done the interview and as soon as they offered me the job I said I couldn't take it. They adjust the times so I would be able to make it with the commute so I take it with the plan that I will quit after two weeks because of the commute.

Go in for training and in the waiting room another girl asks me if I went to *insert name of school*, which I did and turns out she was 2 years older than me and from my town.

I make great friends with my training group and get a lift from my house to work everyday, we became very good friends.

I make great friends in my lab and love working despite the less than perfect conditions.

I also made a nice amount while working there.
