Remember you might be getting skewed answers from reddit. People who answer sex questions tend to be more interested in sex.

Women's hormone levels, especially when they use hormonal birth control or after they've given birth, or during menopause, can absolutely wreck their libido.
I also feel (so this is pure speculation) women might be as horny as men when they are in a relationship, but we don't get aroused randomly as much as men do. E.g. I know a woman with a sky high libido, like her libido runs laps around her partner's, but she was voluntarily single and sexless for years.
