I live in a rural area, and one day I was walking one of my dogs. We were walking on a dirt road, with a few scattered houses around. There's a stretch of big cottonwood trees, and it eventually opens up into farm fields.

The houses are all on acreage, so it's hard to notice anyone along the road unless you were walking or driving on it.

Anyway, we get to about the middle of the section of trees and my dog starts pulling on his leash like crazy, trying to get towards the ditch and the trees. I notice there's a big black plastic trash bag. My heart was pounding at this point because my dogs reaction was really unusual for him. We approached the bag very slowly, and I held on tight to his leash as he started poking his nose into the bag (it was not tied shut).

He tried to keep getting into the bag, but I pulled him away from it after he had opened it up just enough for me to see inside of it.

I could see various colors of fur in the bag, and lots of blood. It didn't look like there were actual animals from what I could see from a distance, but their skin/fur and maybe guts. The bag was really full, though, so maybe there bodies were in there, I don't know.

I have a ton of regret about this situation and it still haunts me to this day (I'm a huge animal lover). I ended up pulling my dog away and going back home. I wish I would have reported it, but I don't think anyone could have done anything.

It appeared that someone just tossed the bag there, and as I said before, nobody would have been able to see who it was unless they were actually on the road at the same time.

What bothers me the most is that the fur looked like it was probably from cats or maybe even dogs. . . :(
