When you learn that ABC has canceled your favorite sitcom.

That's not what I suggested.

I'm suggesting that acting like viewers of a show that wasn't being racist are themselves basically Hitler is the kind of condescending and inaccurate kind of criticism that helps to polarize people who may be close to the middle of the spectrum. There are going to be plenty of people in the middle of the political spectrum that will have been viewers of this show, if we are now going to attack those who simply like the the show Roseanne, but were totally fine with blatantly racist remarks from one of it's actors resulting in it's cancellation they probably aren't going to be moving any closer to "your side". Especially if that side is going to lump them right in with every racist thing an actor said and condescendingly act like they might as well be Hitler for liking a tv show.

This post isn't about "pointing out racism", it's about mocking the viewers of a sitcom tv show. That was my whole issue with it.
