Which product which people seem to love would you NEVER buy under any circumstances?

That’s actually the Mac’s strongest point: maintenance, customer service and support. I use both platforms and the Mac requires a hell of a lot less maintenance, most of it is automated, and for support you can walk into a store and have an expert look at it for free. You’re buying the service every bit as much as you’re buying the machine.

If price is a concern you want a PC. If you play games, you absolutely want a PC. And if you want to plug in super obscure hardware you’d damn well better have a PC. Macs are for people who are willing to pay for a fully supported machine with sexy hardware, pleasantly foolproof closed-ecosystem software and a vastly more powerful command line interface. Those are its strong points. Of course PCs have good command line support too if you run Linux. But anyway. There’s plenty to not like about them and less bang for the buck but to each his own, you spend a lot of time on your laptop so you may as well splurge on one you truly enjoy using, whatever that may be.
