Who ruined your family Christmas this year, and what did they do?

Not this year because I've consciously estranged myself from the entire family.

I'd have to say that would be my dad and his brothers (my uncles). I sat down at the table after dinner one Christmas. My dad's youngest brother (Ed), who was in his mid 50's was going through a divorce with his wife (Anne). Anne had realized during the course of the marriage that she was homosexual, but had stayed together with Ed because they had kids. Once the kids were grow and out in the world on their own, the marriage had broken down and they separated. Ed met a lady and the two move in together and set up a household. Anne also met a lady and moved in with her and set up their home.

And how does this factor into ruining Christmas?

Well, my dad and his brothers (the aforementioned Ed and his other brother Mark who is basically a loudmouthed arrogant human hemorrhoid) were sitting around the table, furious that Anne had moved on so quickly, and how it was wrong she was living with someone while they were in fact still married, let alone the fact she was homosexual and therefore "against god". Between the lot of these "good god-fearing christian men", they were discussing hiring someone my uncle knew to "take care of Anne" by murdering her.

I gathered up my stuff, told them they were dreadful human beings, and if anything happened to Anne, if one of them even looked at her wrong, I would be at the police station turning the lot of them in, family or not. It was the last holiday I spent with my family. I don't regret my decision one bit.
