Do women really benefit more from divorce than men?

Usually that little child support payment doesn’t even cover daycare so that the mom can work to pay for everything else required to feed, clothe, and shelter the child. The man only sees what he is spending and doesn’t see that the mom is probably spending even more than he is to support that child.

By going from a two-income household with combined bills to a one-income household, she usually loses way more than she gains in child support, unless the man is rich and the child support payment is unusually high. Unless it’s so high that she doesn’t have to work, which is very rare, she will have to pay for daycare just so she can make an income, which can run $1000 a month or more. Usually a child support payment doesn’t even cover that much.
