I work at Gamestop these just came in today

I stopped shopping at Gamestop in 2006 when the manager and one of his buddy's (or just a regular) goaded me for asking if the one rack with two shelves was all the PC games they had. "Haha. Who buys PC games anymore?!"

This prompted my discovery of Steam.

Since then I've purchased a PS3 and PS4, not through Gamestop, and only because I can't get NHL on PC. NHL is also the only game I've purchased from EA since Dragon Age: Origins, and only because they have a fucking monopoly on American major league sports titles and I really fucking love Hockey.

This is just to say that there are gaming individuals out there that will stop buying when they have a bad experience. I stopped playing LoL even after sinking some couple hundred dollars over the course of 2ish years because of how toxic the community became. That was 2-3 years ago. I won't even try DOTA or HotS at this point because the MOBA community tends to be so vitriolic.

I refuse to even purchase the new Metal Gear game because of the bullshit $30 price tag for its Demo that wasn't labeled as such. Unless they sell the actual game at $30, I have no intent on buying it, as much as I have loved the series to that point, and regardless of how impressive that single mission was.

I've played Fallout since the beginning, and Bethesda hasn't ever really done us wrong. But I still won't pre-order it because of what pre-ordering has become. Bethesda may not be one of those companies that screws us over, but the pre-order trend will never go away, even if you only pre-order from vendors that don't dick us around. Pre-orders are still a stain on the industry and will continue to be so as long as the model works.

I have no interest in debating any of this. I'm sure I will get some whiny responses, I always do when I say things like this, especially when I mention the MGSV dicking, but I don't care. This is how I feel about it, and you're not going to change that (unless you're a rep for Konami and want to give me %50 off the price of the next MGS title).
