[WP] You are working in a library, organizing the books on shelves, when suddenly a book nearby starts glowing.

Carol fell off the latter giving her a bad hit on the knee but that was not her biggest preocupation, she could have broke her knee but for her it didn't matter.

Carol had been for no more than one month in the library. She worked there since the idea of working in a library in paris had been her dream for a long time, also the work hours fit perfectly with her schedule. After tree days of being tested for the job she was given the possition with just one warning "If I ever find you steal one of the shining books, you will not only be fired but I will make sure your life becomes miserable."

I gotta call the manager of the store she tough to herself. Up until now "The shining books" was nothing to her but a way to talk about the classic pieces of literature and the 18th-14th century books the library kept stored in the recondite places of the library. In other words the books that shined above the rest.

Well after all, they DO shine above the rest the sentence came to her mind as a silly way to be right. She was hypnotised by the blue glow the book made erasing the gloom that covered the bookshelves. Because of this she became skeptic about her first idea. The book had to be hers, the only problem was making sure she wasn't caught. Maybe putting a similar book, the owner couldn't have memorized every single thing that was in there, after all, she had seen him strugling to remember the position of books borrowed every so often like the tree mosketeers. After this rationalization she took the shining book, put it on her purse and continued organizing books until her term was over.

By the end of the day she was back at her flat downtown, she had the book on her mind al day and it was finally time to see what was special about this extrange leathered papers.

"Lets see what makes you special" Carol said as a mutter to herself.

Blank. The first 24 pages of the book were completly empty. However on page 25 a single word appeared: auxilium

"Help?" She wasn't surprised it was in Latin, the book even though it wasn't dated she could identify it was from the middle ages. Page 26 contained two more words "hic sunt."

"It probably means 'many are here'?

The pattern continued across the 359 tick pages, as far as she could see nothing made sense, it was almost sample text. At the end there was another sheet she had missed, it contained several crossed names acompanied by the text you too…

  • Quos tu James Alberson

  • Quos tu Veronica Damster

  • Quos tu Bryan Medina

The list continued and at the end there was an unstricked name:

  • Quos tu Carol pery

Her name was on the list, or more importantly, something that had happened to all the people above was going to happen to her. Sudently the book started glowing again in the same pale blue it had been before. Carol felt strange, with a pit on her stomach. When she tried to put her over to relive the pain, they shattered and fell to the floor as words in latin, her legs followed making her crash to the floor making even more parts of her body turn to meaningless writting. She wanted to scream but she was in shock, she just saw how slowly her body became nothing and she lost conciousness for a second only to appear in a green forest soon after.

"This place looks familiar" Carol said with cracked voice. "I have been here before."

An intrucive tought came to her mind, Of course you've been here before, it's after all the place where you grew up. Memories struck Carol by the second, The little cabin in ohio where she had been all her childhood seemed so far away, but this made her remember.

"Is this place… real? or just an illusion" She wondered around the place before finally seeing her old home. "An illusion of course.* The introusive voice came back. After all, one doesn't travel to the past and hears mysterious voices in day to day life

"Right" Carol wasn't confused nor preocupied only amazed. "Then, what am I doing here?"

why should i know? The voice said in chuckle. The book calls people with unsolved issues in their lives. I'm just here to tell you what you can and can't do

"So all the other people in that last page, they figured it out?" Carol asked to the voice. "They found what was missing?"

On the contrary. They gave up. The intruder laugh as if failure gave him a morvid happiness. They decided they preffered to be found dead and leave everything instead of solving their problems

Carol nodded in understanding. She had to find the mistake she had made.

"Where sould I begin" Carol asked.

Maybe the place where you were literally transported, or not. It's your life, this could be some kind of botom line of it all and what you have to find is decades in the future, Wichever it is, you can go to anytime on your life you want.

"I'll start here"

She began walking to the cabin seeing it as a ghostly figure of her past, even tough she got all the memories of living there, she had no idea of what had happened all those years. She never cared to remember about her childhood it seemed like a useless activity to even try. She never felt like anything important had happened and searching through fuzzy images was a waste of time considering that.

When she was about 6 meters from the east wall he heard shots and saw blood splatter over the window and the curtain covering it.

Not such a boring childhood, eh?
