We all knew how great humankind had once been.The remnants of civilization still haunt all our minds with the knowledge of riches and technology that once graced this simple primate species. At night I would roll around under pelts of dogs skin we used for warmth sheathing with anger at the stupidity of our ancestors, they had it all they had the whole planet at there finger tips and they through it all away. Those bastards! Wasn't food and shelter enough for them? now I sleep like the ancients did, in animal skins under a tree only a small bundle of burning radiated tree bark to keep my hands from freezing off. Oh how luck they were those IDIOTS! Now the human life consists of dodging radiation zones and hunting for rodents, in the year 2092 a feast is a rabbit with pre war dried food rations.

My name is Darin I was born somewhere around what was formerly known as Lincoln Nebraska to a mother who died giving birth to me and father who was a lowly grunt in the state defense force of western America he was eaten up by the second civil war of the United States, or at least that's what I assume, I haven't seen him since the winter of 2029.

After the Easterners pushed us back into the Rockies the entire midwest pretty much just slowly died a long starving death after we were cut off from the farm land. Now I spend my days running from every form of human left on the planet so I can try to squeeze out another day of existence without being turned it human stew to the mountain cannibals that roam this area.
