Not many people understand. Actually, it would be fairly accurate to say nobody understood.

Magic had been outlawed many decades ago, after King Leonald was assisnated with a charmed arrow. His daughter, now Queen Varris, ordered the capture of all magic users, to be put to work in the service of the crown.

The assasin was never found, but I have a secret. A major secret.

I am a wizard. I am a scientist. I am a bounty hunter. I am an assasin. I will save us all, whether the people of the world want to be saved or not.

I am from 100 years in the future. A future where magic-users are free to live in peace and harmony. A future where they choose not too.

Non-magic users have almost all been wiped out. Those that are left either live in poverty or are kept as pets. It is horrific, to say the least. The coalition of magic rules with cruelty and vice. I can't let this stand.

I loved a woman, once. A beautiful lady by the name of Leah. She was kind, thoughtful, and believed in peace. The only problem: she was unable to use magic.

I released those pictures for viewing myself this morning." [WP] As a little kid, you liked to pull harmless pranks on the local cryptids. As you grew older you realized the danger of going out into the woods and stopped visiting them. Turns out, the cryptids had fond memories of your antics and want to come and see you again. [WP] You are a supervillain who went undercover as a superhero for jokes, only to discover how corrupt the system is in the hero society. The system is so corrupt that you agree to lead a small group of superheroes to rebel against the unjust hero society.
