In terms of competition at the domestic box office, "Frozen 2" may still have to face "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker," "Jumanji: The Next Level," and to a lesser extent "Spies in Disguise" (regarding its target demographic).

As a result, the film may actually end up more front-loaded than the first "Frozen" despite having a shot at out-grossing its predecessor domestically, especially when there will be more movie options for families this holiday season (compared to 2013-14, where much of the Christmas releases were either adult-skewing or too violent for most kids).

But on the other hand, I do agree that "Frozen 2" will have a much higher opening than 2013's "Frozen" (at least domestically), given the popularity of the IP and the hype that its marketing has generated so far.
