Thank God your husband is okay and I'm so sorry you are dealing with this.

First of all, it's a damn pandemic. Some people can't even afford groceries to feed themselves right now. My friend did something similar a few weeks ago and had us all pitch in for a blanket she wanted to order for our friend who just gave birth. Guess who got to deliver the blanket? Just her. Not everyone who paid for it. It's absolutely gross and kind of weird for your friend to do this. I'm sure they will have plenty of help from just their family alone and if they don't, then I hate to be blunt but maybe they should've reconsidered having a child. You are in no way responsible for their decision making.
