I (16M) told my dad I was gay, and he posted it all over Facebook and Instagram when I told him not to tell anyone.

(My response will respond as if your father is in general a good parent, I don't know him so I'll assume so for now)

Look, I get it, you are mad, be mad all you want for now

Just don't ruin your relationship with him. Trust me, he is a good father. Of course he fucked up massively, but please remember he is human as well, he probably was very happy you opened up to him. That clouded up his judgment, but remember that it means a lot for him as a father, all of his work getting validated by gaining your trust to such a degree.

Again, assuming your father is in general good, please keep him in your life. A lot of people would hope to have such an accepting father, flaws and all.

Obviously my point of view is biased since I fucked up my relationship with my family for, when you look at it in the grand scheme of things, small mistakes.

In conclusion, if your father has been great for the most part of your life please keep him close, he honestly seems like a good man from how fast he accepted you, even if he fucked up afterwards
