So full disclosure, I have a PhD in linguistics. You're going down a rabbit hole of dictionary definitions to make the case for why a looter should be considered a terrorist. That's not going to stand up with any forensic linguist, PhD or not.

Fighting with civilians is not terrorism. Showing up to a bar fight with your boys is not terrorism. Looting, rioting, and vandalism are not acts of terrorism.

Terrorism is enshrined in open carry laws, the sole purpose of which is to intimidate the people around you. It's not a fashion statement. The only intention for showing people you have a weapon that you could kill them is to intimidate them.
